BX/PX No Longer Allows Electronic Cigarettes

Damn, damn damn.

I've been selling at the BX (Base Exchange) for a while now and I just got an e-mail from one of the base that they will no longer be able to schedule me until the matter has been cleared from the HQ.

I guess I will have to start looking for different shows to attend or maybe even a new product.  Wish me luck.

E-Cigarette Business

The the e-cigarette business is not as easy in a local location.  Online seems to attract a nice customer base with enough advertising, great price, and good customer service.  Sadly enough, the same does not work for too well in a retail location.

Reasons? Here they are:
 - Many places prohibit or dislike the sales of cigarette products (even if they contain no tobacco)
 - Retail location, utilities, etc is too expensive
 - Retail prices are naturally higher than online prices
 - 7-Eleven selling e-cigs for $19.99
 - Too many people think it's a hassle to own one

The list can go on and on.  To the general public who is trying their first e-cig or heard about it here and there, many people will compare prices to 7-11.  It is very difficult trying to convince them that a true DSE901 or Joye510 is much better than a $20 POS you can buy at a retail store.  To the customers, it just sounds like another salesman trying to make a sale.

PCC - Personal Charging Case (Joye510) Review

Joye510 PCC

Today's review will be about the personal charging case for the Joye510.  The PCC comes with choices of various colors such as black, silver, blue, purple, etc.  They are painted on a aluminum or stainless steel depending on your choice.

The PCC can be used to charge both automatic and manual batteries for the Joye510 up to four times on a fully charged PCC.  The PCC houses a rechargeable 1200mAh battery that is charged with a mini-b USB charger or data cable.

The PCC is rectangular in shape with a push button to the left, which allows the top lid to flip open.  Once the top lid is open, it can house a atomizer with cartridge, along with two additional spare cartridges.  The last slot on the right is used to house the battery that requires charging and the charging process will begin once the lid is closed.

The front of the unit has three LED indicator lights that will allow the user to know the status of the PCC.  The top light (first light) is the charging indicator light that will light up red when charging the Joye510 battery.  The second battery will light up red to indicate the low power of the PCC.  The last LED light will indicate when the PCC is being charged and when the charging is complete.  When charging, the last light will be lit red and when complete, the light will change to a bright green color.

Overall, the PCC is a great unit to have around if you are a heavy vaper who enjoys having a fully charged battery at all times.  The unit is thin and sleek which allows for easy storage in your pocket or car's cup holder.  Since the PCC can be charged by any mini-b USB, many car chargers for a cell phone will work to keep your PCC fully charged when on the road.

In the package:
1 - PCC
1 - Instruction Manual
1 - Mini-B USB data cable

Q510 Disposable

I have gotten the Q510 Disposable e-cigs in stock and will be reviewing it today.

Looks and feel:  The Q510 has a body shaped and designed very similar to the Joye510.  The unit comes in a matte black color for the atomizer and a glossy black color for the battery.  The battery is fully automatic and will light up blue when activated.  The cartridge used for the Q510 is very similar to the Joye510 cartridge and may just be the same thing.

Vaping quality and use:  The battery is only good for 3~5 recharges and that is really it.  The unit comes pre-charged so you are able to use it right out of the box.  The unit requires a much harder draw (inhale) to activate the unit as compared to the Joye510 (automatic) and DSE901 (automatic).  The vapor production once the atomizer is heated up is quite good and comparable to any other e-cigarette.

Quality:  The quality is nowhere near any major companies like Joye Tech and can see the differences in numerous places.  When setting up the unit, you will notice that the connectors between the atomizer and batteries are very dull colored, and not smooth, making it hard to screw in the atomizer to the battery.  Secondly, the size of the battery is slightly larger as compared to the atomizer and it creates a little hump where they connect.

Packaging:  The packaging of the Q510 is very compact and everything fits very snugly in a cigarette pack sized box. Inside, there is a battery, atomizer, USB charger, 3 sample cartridges, and one instruction manual.  The box is made out of thin cardboard and the style is very eye catching.

In the package:
1 - Atomizer
1 - Battery
1 - USB Charger
3 - 18mg MLB Cartridges
1 - Instruction Manual

Conclusion:  This unit is good for people who want to try out the e-cig for themselves and see if they enjoy the taste and feel of the vapor.  It is rechargeable up to 3~5 times and can be good for a few days of vaping.  This would also make a perfect inexpensive gift for smokers who would like to help kick the habit or just want a alternative to smoking.

Joye eGo Review

So today will the first review of the Joye eGo.  I got the Joye eGo about a week ago and I am finally done messing with it.  The eGo came with lots of extra goods which justified the price.

In the package:
2 - Joye510 atomizers
2 - Cones
2 - Batteries
2 - Button protectors
1 - USB rapid charger
1 - AC adapter
1 - 510/901 adapter
1 - Carrying pouch
5 - Sample cartridges
1 - Instruction manual

First Impression:

The eGo box came in a hard cardboard box, all black with nice white text that gave the box a luxurious feel to.  Once open, the inserts inside was also black and was molded to the shape of the things included so all parts fit snugly inside, perfect for a gift.

The eGo itself was matte black in color and had a soft, silicone feel to it which allow the user to hold the unit without worrying about it slipping out of your hand.  The unit is on the rather big in size but that allows for a large battery capacity, bigger atomizer, and more capacity cartridge.

The unit I used lasted me roughly the entire day on a single charge and with the included rapid charger, the charge time was about 2 hours for a full charge.  The LED battery is white and this time, unlike all other ecigs, the light is on the button and not at the tip.  The button portion is clear hard plastic and when pressed, it glows in a bright white color.

As for the vapor production, the unit uses the original Joye510 atomizer and I was unable to notice a large difference in vapor production or the throat hit.  The Joye510 worked like a champ and the eGo is the same way when using the 510 atomizer.

Conclusion
The Joye eGo seems like a solid product and for the value, you really get a lot of things included. I will be making a new order for the eGo atomizer and cartridge which is supposed to allow more vapor, more taste, and a long lasting cartridge that holds 1.5ml of juice.

Joye510 - Starters Kit

I've been hearing good things about the Joye510 for a while and finally after placing an order for the Joye510, I quickly fell in love with it.  The Joye510 is very similar to the DSE901 in size but the main difference was that it came with a manual battery with no cut-off timer.  This meant that I was able to take long drags without worrying about the unit powering off.  The Joye510 seems to have a stronger battery and atomizer which gives the user a better feel when inhaling and a lot more vapor.

The downside to this was that since the battery was the so small, the unit ran out of power very quickly.  I placed an order for a PCC (Personal Charging Case) which allows one battery to be charged at all times while the other is in use.  The PCC was great because it meant that I can vape without the worry of running out of power.  Also, the button on the battery can be an issue at times.  The button is very easily activated in the pocket, which can cause the atomizer to burn out much quicker or even on the spot.

In the package:

2 atomizers
2 batteries
charger + cable
5 sample cartridge
1 instruction manual

I have just recently upgraded to the Joye eGo which I am still testing out and trying to see what I like about it.  Will update later.

DSE901 Starters Kit

The DSE901 is the model that I first started off with when searching for a good electronic cigarette.  After multiple reviews online, I have decided to settle with the DSE901 and purchased one from China for a very low cost.  After shipping and handling charges, the total came out to about $40 (more or less a few extra $$) and I was quite happy that I can purchase one for so cheap.

Once the package arrived, I charged it for a few hours and started vaping away.  At first, it was hard for me to get the hang of it.  After about a hour, I finally was able to figure everything out and had a decent vaping experience.  After doing some research online, I noticed that I had a knock-off version of the DSE901 without the SLB imprint on neither battery or atomizer and was quite depressed.

Learning from my experience, I looked around stores that carried good priced DSE901 but many turned out to be knock-off version.  I finally came across a real DSE901 the vaping experience was completely different.  More vapor and stronger hit is what I noticed.  Sadly though, the quality of the unit was about the same as to the sturdiness and the paint job done to the unit.

In the package:

1 atomizer
2 batteries
charger + cable
5 sample cartridge
1 instruction manual

Introduction

Hello World,

This will mark the first day of my blog for my business www.gearzoneusa.com

Although I sell many smaller items, my main product lineup is electronic cigarettes and related items.  I first got into the electronic cigarette business after hearing about the electronic cigarettes from a company called NJOY.  After taking some interest, I decided to purchase a generic electronic cigarette online and from there, I grew up with the people and community of ECF (electronic cigarette forum).

There, I learned about many different styles of electronic cigarettes and how each one is different from the other.  After learning much about the e-cigs, I quickly got into a business selling e-cigs on Craigslist.  My prices were competitive and the customers loved the product.  After about 2 years of doing so, I finally have my own website and I hope to make it into a site dedicated to retailing e-cigs and other related items.
